The Franciscan Foundation works with grateful patients and families, doctors, nurses, employees and community leaders to raise funds to improve healthcare for our community through programs and services at St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, St. Elizabeth Hospital in Enumclaw, St. Francis Hospital in Federal Way, St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, and Franciscan Hospice (Hospice House) & Palliative Care.

The donations we receive enable these hospital sites and programs to provide an exceptional level of care — care that’s not always covered by fees and reimbursements. They support four funding priorities:

• Mission: Seeds innovative programs that meet emerging needs and provides assistance for patients and employees who could use an extra hand.
• Clinical Excellence: Focuses on meeting educations, training and scholarship needs of our staff in addition to helping Virginia Mason Franciscan Health create an atmosphere of advancement and learning for physicians, nurses and staff.
• Services and Clinical Programs: Focuses on meeting the needs for cancer, stroke, heart, women and children, and hospice, to name a few.
• Facility, Technology and Innovation: Meets the capital needs at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health hospital sites in addition to delivering health virtually.
